San Francisco, CA August 2016.

And summerlovin’ was just beginning in San Francisco, home of the infamous Outside Lands Music and Art Festival.

It was a first time for me, going to Outside Lands. Trees hugging every walkway, and the music singing, moving through them. It was magical. Day one had an unforgettable performance by Grimes, trailed by LCD Soundsystem at the main stage. Listening to LCD washed up old memories and brought out the tears. The beat for “Home”, and looking around at everyone and at my oldest friends left me breathless. Day two had everyone poppin’ with that massive set by Big Grams. Then Diiv and Miguel on day three, and Lionel Richie closing it all with that disco love, Mamma would be so proud.

The music wasn’t the only magic that happened this weekend, but the reunions. Seeing so many loving faces together in one moment made everything a little better.
